The call centers in the West or developed countries get the work done from the developing countries that is generally cheaper in terms of cost and better in terms of efficiency. The major factor of cost that is fairly less because of cheap manpower is the most attractive factor that attracts developed countries to either have their call centers in the developing countries or to outsource their work from there.
In addition to cheap manpower, the other important factors like reduced infrastructure costs (as compared to West), cheap land prices and so on also offer enormous opportunities to have the work done from developing countries.
Now, when it comes to the quality of the work, you will find huge resemblance between the working efficiency of the people of both the developing and the developed countries. The most vital factor associated with the agents of these developing countries is that they are highly equipped with communication skills. This advantage of fluent English along with technology savvy skills enables these agents to interact with the customers of all the countries without any predicament.
Moreover, if you are running a business organization in developed countries, you will find that hiring a professional over there is nearly about ten times than the wages you pay someone else in any part of the world. The measure reason behind this factor is currency conversion which plays a key role in the outsourcing industry especially the call centers.
Although you can set up a call center in your country too, but the chances of its success are negligible. It is so because you will have to spend ample of money in order to establish a call center which include its infrastructure, essential equipments such as computers, telephones etc.
In case of small business concerns it could be assumed that few of its employees can provide customer support services but for that purpose they need to be jack of all the trades which means additional wages are payable to them. Whereas in the case of huge business empires, they don’t have to invest in the salary of thousands of people; as the efficiency factor is available in the developing countries.
Moreover, these business processes strengthen the economy of these developing countries which means a lot for them. That’s why the governments of these countries have provided so much flexibility in the laws of outsourcing which is also a drastic factor to attract the several companies to set their call centers up there.
